We know, we know thatHalloween is a holiday that does not belong to us, that it concerns other customs and cultures. Yet you can find many elements in common with the traditionalFestival of the Dead which is celebrated according to the calendar every 2 November. SimplyHalloween conquers the little ones with its atmosphere, costumes and its inevitable“Trick or treat?”
For this reason we decided to please everyone's palates, creating for the occasiontraditional desserts andsurprises super tasty (andscary!)for the most small.
The Fave dei morti
You can find the Fave dei morti in our restaurantfave dei morti , also called sweet broad beans or bones of the dead, are exquisite soft biscuits made with almonds which are prepared on the occasion of the feast of All Saints' Day in various Italian regions. The term fave derives from a tradition of ancient Rome according to whichfava beans represented the connection between the world of the living and the world of the dead. There were numerous rituals and superstitious habits that involved chewing dried broad beans, or cooking them, or even making a donation on the tomb of the deceased. Today legumes have been replaced by these delicious sweets!
We can consider themlocal Halloween sweets , in fact the bean shape of the biscuit was once considered the container of the soul of the dead. A thrilling story, just as this special night wants!
